After
restarting, you will be welcomed to the Windows
2000 Setup Wizard. |
| Setup will
detect your different components. This will take
a while, and your screen will
flicker. |
|
 |
 |
|
You will
be asked for your name and that of your
company. |
| You will
also be asked for the Product ID code that came
with your copy of Windows. |
|
 |
 |
|
Be
prepared to wait while Windows completes a
“final set of tasks.” |
| Remove the
CD and click “Finish” to restart. |
|
 |
 |
|
Upon
restarting, you will be asked to provide a
password, or allow Windows to assume that only
one user will ever log on. (Since I am the
only person who ever uses my computer, I let
Windows always log on as "Administrator."
In Windows 2000, only administrators can perform
certain tasks and install certain
programs. For another user to be able to
perform these tasks, "Administrator" will have
to log on and give that user administrator
rights. |
| The Setup
process is now complete. |
